Well as someone pointed out, I totally failed to update this blog on Sunday. There will be news of the Cutting Edge Film Festival soon but for the moment I'm just getting excited about Halloween!
Free Shock! Horror! single still available
I can't believe it's been an entire year since the release of my single Shock! Horror! If you missed it or are just finding Synoiz now then check out the creepy horror music video by 12 FT Beast Productions by clicking on the animation to the side and click here to grab the 4-track free horror music download Shock! Horror!.
At the moment I have two main projects on the go, one is completing the main theme/intro music for a creepy game soundtrack for a publisher proposal and the other is remixing the new Erasure single "I Lose Myself" (which isn't really work as it's for a competition but it'd be amazing to get a remix on an Erasure release!).
How is everyone doing for Halloween? Looking forward to it? Costume sorted? Been out already?
Posted 7th December 2010
Hello there! It's been a little while hasn't it? Thanks to everyone who has downloaded a copy of the free Halloween single Shock! Horror! from my website, I'm so pleased with how it has done. It's become my most watched/tweeted/reviewed/downloaded single yet which makes me very happy. Is everyone doing okay with all this snow? It's bloody terrible up north here in England, totally snowed out!
Due to being a bit overworked I decided to take November easy so I set myself no targets and deadlines and just had a bit of a rest (even found the time to play some Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and get back to Wii Fit!). Now it's December I'm back into the thick of it and have loads of stuff to do.
At the weekend I was with Ewan McNulty from Ragnarok Radio recording some guest vocals for his own project "Darker With The Day" which hopefully should see the light of day sometime early next year. On Friday I recorded some backing vocals for Preston Reset's remix of my track "Getting Safer" for the upcoming Darkling EP.
For the rest of the month I'm going to be working on my own remix for the Darkling EP (it's still not finished), a special remix for the upcoming single release of "Committal" from Instant Pyrolysis as well as a brand new dark ambient track for inclusion on the Chernobyl 25th anniversary compilation that is being released by Ambientaria Records next year.
What else is there? Oh yes, I've been chatting to a group of North East filmmakers about the possibility of me writing some original music for their upcoming horror film "Nightmares". They've sent me a teaser trailer which uses my track "Shock! Horror!" to great effect, currently I'm not sure if it's public yet so I can't link you up but hopefully this will be another nice little project to be involved in and looks to be a lot of fun.
Phew well that's all I can think of for the moment, hope you're all doing well and thanks to everyone who showed support for the new demos for the next album that I've been posting sporadically on Twitter, if you missed them then you can listen to each of them on the player below:
Hope you like them, more news coming soon I expect, I'm off to Edinburgh tomorrow to get some shopping done for Christmas and visit my brother, See ya!

Shock! Horror! New audio preview
Well it's only a few weeks until my Halloween single "Shock! Horror!" is unleashed upon the world. Myself and 12 Ft Beast Productions are currently rushing around trying to get the music video filmed and edited on time but in the mean time here's a preview of the exclusive Shock! Horror! (Acoustic Edit) included on the single:
Synoiz - Shock! Horror! (Acoustic Edit)
Shock! Horror! will be available for free from the official Synoiz website from the 25th of October 2010 as well as to buy through Amazon, iTunes and all other good digital retailers.
Review of Shock! Horror! up on the Elitarian Webzine
If that wasn't enough to wet your appetite for the new single, a brilliant new review of the release is now up at the Elitarian Webzine. I really recommend you check it out as the reviewer has really taken her time to grasp and understand what it is I'm trying to capture and do with my music.
According to the listing on the sidebar while the review has only been up on the site for a few days it's already become the most viewed article on the website! Wow!
Check out SYNOIZ - Shock! Horror! on the Elitarian.
Drew Daywalt's "Camera Obscura"
If you haven't been following the man himself @DrewDaywalt on Twitter you've probably been unlucky enough to miss out on his brilliant new horror serial "Camera Obscura" which sees new mini-episodes brought out throughout October.
Daywalt himself is quickly becoming a legend for his careful grasp of horror as well as, amongst other things, for bringing the fine art of "monster horror" back into the fold. You can watch the trailer for the series below but click the banner to watch all the existing episodes of Drew Daywalt's Camera Obscura on DailyMotion.

Oh yeah and finally... Freebies!
Buy my CD or submit your address and get free promo stuff in the post!
Synoiz fans who were kind enough to buy a CD copy of my debut album "Ambients" all got a special surprise last week when I sent them all exclusive Shock! Horror! promo postcards to remind them about the new single.
This is something I plan to do more in the future as I like the idea of rewarding my fans with little limited edition things such as this.
If you'd like to be applicable for any future promotional postcards (word to the wise: I'm playing with the idea of putting exclusive download promo codes on them) you'll have to give me a mailing address to post them to. The easiest way of doing this is to buy a CD copy of my debut album "Ambients" for only £4 (shipping to UK is included) and I'll add your address to my mailing list and include one of the very limited stock of Shock! Horror! postcards that I have left in with your order.

Hey everyone, argh how long has it been? I'm getting really rubbish at this blogging thing. I remember before I released anything and was still tweaking the album, I used to blog loads (even though I had little to mention) and now that I have loads going on and lots of cool stuff to share I never sit myself down to blog at all!
Cornwall Holiday
Well I've got about 13 tracks written and so it's time for myself and Kirsty to sit down and work on the lyrics and the vocals for our debut album together. This will be a side project under a joint name for us (revealed later!) and considering that the album is entirely synthetic pop, we thought the best place to go for lyrical inspiration would be rural Cornwall! (It seemed a good idea at the time, so expect lots of synth dance tracks about getting a good price on your mare at the weekly market). If Kirsty let's me I'll try to get some videos and blogs done while we're down there.
Shock! Horror! Promotional Single
Okay, okay you all knew it was going to happen, but I made a silly promise on election night that if the Conservatives got into power over here in England that I would release the nightmarish track Shock! Horror! as a promotional Halloween single (to punish the world for letting this happen).
The artwork and a possible video are still being worked on but the release will be towards the end of October. The single will be free to download and currently the tracklisting is planned to be as follows:
- Shock! Horror! (Album Version)
- Shock! Horror! (Sinister Mix)
- Shock! Horror! (Acoustic Edit) [Unconfirmed]
- Shock! Horror! (Remix) [Artist Unconfirmed]
Perfect for Halloween eh?
Interview with Olaf from Joint Venture Radio
A few weeks ago I was on holiday to visit friends and family in Germany and I got time to meet up with the amazing Olaf from wonderful Synoiz supporters Joint Venture Radio in his home town of Bremen. We recorded a lengthy two hour interview discussing everything from Ambients to Kirsty's album (including announcing the name of the side project) to the long suffering Darkling EP. I'm not sure when the episode/s with the interview on will air but stay tuned!
I've got lots more news to give you including photos from Germany, some remixes I've done/am working on, and my inclusion on an upcoming collaboration album to mark the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster from Ambientaria Records.
Until then, see you later, for the latest ramblings and news, check my Twitter.
