Well as someone pointed out, I totally failed to update this blog on Sunday. There will be news of the Cutting Edge Film Festival soon but for the moment I'm just getting excited about Halloween!
Free Shock! Horror! single still available
I can't believe it's been an entire year since the release of my single Shock! Horror! If you missed it or are just finding Synoiz now then check out the creepy horror music video by 12 FT Beast Productions by clicking on the animation to the side and click here to grab the 4-track free horror music download Shock! Horror!.
At the moment I have two main projects on the go, one is completing the main theme/intro music for a creepy game soundtrack for a publisher proposal and the other is remixing the new Erasure single "I Lose Myself" (which isn't really work as it's for a competition but it'd be amazing to get a remix on an Erasure release!).
How is everyone doing for Halloween? Looking forward to it? Costume sorted? Been out already?

Shock! Horror! New audio preview
Well it's only a few weeks until my Halloween single "Shock! Horror!" is unleashed upon the world. Myself and 12 Ft Beast Productions are currently rushing around trying to get the music video filmed and edited on time but in the mean time here's a preview of the exclusive Shock! Horror! (Acoustic Edit) included on the single:
Synoiz - Shock! Horror! (Acoustic Edit)
Shock! Horror! will be available for free from the official Synoiz website from the 25th of October 2010 as well as to buy through Amazon, iTunes and all other good digital retailers.
Review of Shock! Horror! up on the Elitarian Webzine
If that wasn't enough to wet your appetite for the new single, a brilliant new review of the release is now up at the Elitarian Webzine. I really recommend you check it out as the reviewer has really taken her time to grasp and understand what it is I'm trying to capture and do with my music.
According to the listing on the sidebar while the review has only been up on the site for a few days it's already become the most viewed article on the website! Wow!
Check out SYNOIZ - Shock! Horror! on the Elitarian.
Drew Daywalt's "Camera Obscura"
If you haven't been following the man himself @DrewDaywalt on Twitter you've probably been unlucky enough to miss out on his brilliant new horror serial "Camera Obscura" which sees new mini-episodes brought out throughout October.
Daywalt himself is quickly becoming a legend for his careful grasp of horror as well as, amongst other things, for bringing the fine art of "monster horror" back into the fold. You can watch the trailer for the series below but click the banner to watch all the existing episodes of Drew Daywalt's Camera Obscura on DailyMotion.

Oh yeah and finally... Freebies!
Buy my CD or submit your address and get free promo stuff in the post!
Synoiz fans who were kind enough to buy a CD copy of my debut album "Ambients" all got a special surprise last week when I sent them all exclusive Shock! Horror! promo postcards to remind them about the new single.
This is something I plan to do more in the future as I like the idea of rewarding my fans with little limited edition things such as this.
If you'd like to be applicable for any future promotional postcards (word to the wise: I'm playing with the idea of putting exclusive download promo codes on them) you'll have to give me a mailing address to post them to. The easiest way of doing this is to buy a CD copy of my debut album "Ambients" for only £4 (shipping to UK is included) and I'll add your address to my mailing list and include one of the very limited stock of Shock! Horror! postcards that I have left in with your order.

Is it May already? Crikey, that means it's nearly a year since myself and the guys at 12 FT Beast Productions were rushing around getting things sorted for the Long Lost... music video. Feels like yesterday that I was standing on that pier holding onto my hat for dear life.
Things are going well for me at the moment and thank you to everyone who bought a copy of my latest single Ever Emptiness it did so much better than I expected!
Thanks especially to Ragnarok Radio for inviting me on their show for a chat and for playing the single. Also thanks to Olaf at Joint Venture Radio for premiering the 10-minute B-Side Silhouettes on his excellent Waverider show.
Ambients Re-Release - 21st May
Big news however is that next Friday (the 21st of May) will see a re-release of my debut album Ambients with the price tag I always wanted.
The album will be available from the official Synoiz store on BandCamp along with each of the three singles for much cheaper than on Amazon and iTunes. Depending on where you are in the world, the full 14-track MP3 album will be available with a free PDF artwork booklet for the following prices:
United Kingdom | £3.00 |
---|---|
Rest Of Europe | €3.50 |
USA & Canada | $4.50 |
Got a site/blog? Want to help me out with promotion?
I'm rushing around trying to get a website and digital press copies sorted out. It would really be a help if anyone who has a blog or a website could mention the album when it comes out, I'll be posting a few banners to put on your site sometime over the next week. There -may- be an exclusive track in it for you but then again that would be bribery wouldn't it?
Thoughts on the British General Election
It's been a rather exciting two weeks here in England as the general election has ended crazily. I am a die-hard supporter of the Liberal Democrats and while I was very disappointed at the very few seats they managed to win, I'm choosing to be optimistic about the Tory-Liberal coalition that we've ended up with. This sounds bizarre but what I wanted from the election was a change, something new rather than the same old blue or red toss up and landslide Tory victory that I was dreading, this coalition is something we have never seen before in England and with both Nick Clegg as deputy PM and Vince Cable in the cabinet this looks like the finest moment the Liberal Democrats will be having for a while. None of us liberals wanted to see a Tory as PM but perhaps this could work.
Hope you're all well, roll on summer!
