Hello there chaps and chappesses,
I don't think I've done a blog or mail out in a while but I thought I'd tell you about an important release that's out today.
COMMITTAL - The new single by Instant Pyrolysis (Featuring remixes by Synoiz and Nors'Klh)
Can you see why I'm mentioning this now? :D
This is something I got asked to do a few months back and due to other commitments I ended up leaving it quite late and so (coupled with the new track I was writing for the upcoming Remember Chernobyl charity compilation) I had most of my December working for Adrien from Ambientaria records! The single "Committal" is a really interesting dark ambient piece as it's a track that tells a story of wrongful (or is it?) incarceration through oppressive bass and low piano motifs coupled with some dramatic and at times creepy spoken & operatic vocals from singer Marionita Paige.
You can check out the mini-site for Committal to listen to both a sample of the track and to buy the digital download for only €2 EUR. Considering you get 3-tracks including remixes by both me and Nors'Klh it's well worth the price and your money goes direct to both the artist, the singer and Ambientaria records who are proving a great help in getting a lot more dark ambient artists noticed out there.

Shock! Horror! New audio preview
Well it's only a few weeks until my Halloween single "Shock! Horror!" is unleashed upon the world. Myself and 12 Ft Beast Productions are currently rushing around trying to get the music video filmed and edited on time but in the mean time here's a preview of the exclusive Shock! Horror! (Acoustic Edit) included on the single:
Synoiz - Shock! Horror! (Acoustic Edit)
Shock! Horror! will be available for free from the official Synoiz website from the 25th of October 2010 as well as to buy through Amazon, iTunes and all other good digital retailers.
Review of Shock! Horror! up on the Elitarian Webzine
If that wasn't enough to wet your appetite for the new single, a brilliant new review of the release is now up at the Elitarian Webzine. I really recommend you check it out as the reviewer has really taken her time to grasp and understand what it is I'm trying to capture and do with my music.
According to the listing on the sidebar while the review has only been up on the site for a few days it's already become the most viewed article on the website! Wow!
Check out SYNOIZ - Shock! Horror! on the Elitarian.
Drew Daywalt's "Camera Obscura"
If you haven't been following the man himself @DrewDaywalt on Twitter you've probably been unlucky enough to miss out on his brilliant new horror serial "Camera Obscura" which sees new mini-episodes brought out throughout October.
Daywalt himself is quickly becoming a legend for his careful grasp of horror as well as, amongst other things, for bringing the fine art of "monster horror" back into the fold. You can watch the trailer for the series below but click the banner to watch all the existing episodes of Drew Daywalt's Camera Obscura on DailyMotion.

Oh yeah and finally... Freebies!
Buy my CD or submit your address and get free promo stuff in the post!
Synoiz fans who were kind enough to buy a CD copy of my debut album "Ambients" all got a special surprise last week when I sent them all exclusive Shock! Horror! promo postcards to remind them about the new single.
This is something I plan to do more in the future as I like the idea of rewarding my fans with little limited edition things such as this.
If you'd like to be applicable for any future promotional postcards (word to the wise: I'm playing with the idea of putting exclusive download promo codes on them) you'll have to give me a mailing address to post them to. The easiest way of doing this is to buy a CD copy of my debut album "Ambients" for only £4 (shipping to UK is included) and I'll add your address to my mailing list and include one of the very limited stock of Shock! Horror! postcards that I have left in with your order.

Is it May already? Crikey, that means it's nearly a year since myself and the guys at 12 FT Beast Productions were rushing around getting things sorted for the Long Lost... music video. Feels like yesterday that I was standing on that pier holding onto my hat for dear life.
Things are going well for me at the moment and thank you to everyone who bought a copy of my latest single Ever Emptiness it did so much better than I expected!
Thanks especially to Ragnarok Radio for inviting me on their show for a chat and for playing the single. Also thanks to Olaf at Joint Venture Radio for premiering the 10-minute B-Side Silhouettes on his excellent Waverider show.
Ambients Re-Release - 21st May
Big news however is that next Friday (the 21st of May) will see a re-release of my debut album Ambients with the price tag I always wanted.
The album will be available from the official Synoiz store on BandCamp along with each of the three singles for much cheaper than on Amazon and iTunes. Depending on where you are in the world, the full 14-track MP3 album will be available with a free PDF artwork booklet for the following prices:
United Kingdom | £3.00 |
---|---|
Rest Of Europe | €3.50 |
USA & Canada | $4.50 |
Got a site/blog? Want to help me out with promotion?
I'm rushing around trying to get a website and digital press copies sorted out. It would really be a help if anyone who has a blog or a website could mention the album when it comes out, I'll be posting a few banners to put on your site sometime over the next week. There -may- be an exclusive track in it for you but then again that would be bribery wouldn't it?
Thoughts on the British General Election
It's been a rather exciting two weeks here in England as the general election has ended crazily. I am a die-hard supporter of the Liberal Democrats and while I was very disappointed at the very few seats they managed to win, I'm choosing to be optimistic about the Tory-Liberal coalition that we've ended up with. This sounds bizarre but what I wanted from the election was a change, something new rather than the same old blue or red toss up and landslide Tory victory that I was dreading, this coalition is something we have never seen before in England and with both Nick Clegg as deputy PM and Vince Cable in the cabinet this looks like the finest moment the Liberal Democrats will be having for a while. None of us liberals wanted to see a Tory as PM but perhaps this could work.
Hope you're all well, roll on summer!

I'm rather excited, I managed to get tickets for me and Kirsty to go see La Roux in Newcastle tonight, just before I head out the door here's the latest news from Synoiz!
Ambients the debut album is out now!
My debut instrumental album of 14 electro darkwave tracks "Ambients" was released on the 31st of October to a wonderful amount of support from fans. Despite being pretty much ignored by the UK media (one local publication that I will not name choosing to put their sealed press copy on eBay rather than actually listening to it) the album managed to get a good amount of airplay on independant radio stations in the US and some commercial stations in Germany, even going so far as getting a very kind review in a Turkish newspaper!
You can get links to buy the album as well as listen to Ambients in full from the mini-site: http://ambients.synoiz.net
New single Getting Safer released 12th of December
If you've been following me on Twitter you'll know that these past few weeks have been full of the chaos of filming the music video for the second single from Ambients "Getting Safer". The single will be released worldwide through Amazon, iTunes, eMusic on the 12th of December (before the Christmas single rush I hope!).
For the release I've written two new tracks to act as b-sides. They're both worth a listen and were rather fun to make even though I was drowning in promotion/artwork deadlines for Ambients when I had to write them! We're hoping to have the video ready for the week before the release and will be available, like the video for the experimental first single "Long Lost...", on the Synoiz YouTube
Ambients makes brief appearance in Amazon top 100
In a massive surprise (considering the low-key promo the album has had and the horrific £6.99 price tag the stores have slapped on it) Ambients managed to enter into the Dance/Electronic top 100 MP3 albums on Amazon for 2 days this week. It peaked at #73 which is absolutely amazing for me. When I attempt to make some commercial material I'll be bothered about charts but to get any kind of sales achievement for an album like this is a major thing!
Hope you're all doing okay,
Kind regards,
Synoiz

I'm so excited, my debut album "Ambients" is OUT NOW!
You can buy it from any of the stores listed in the dropdown below, including iTunes and Amazon.
One thing I must mention is that I have had very little control over the pricing of my album and personally I think it's way too expensive on Amazon (£6.99/$8.99) and iTunes (£7.99/$9.99). To apologise for this I'm offering a FREE Limited Edition CD copy of the album (only 100 in existance) with every digital purchase from those two stores (including postage to wherever you are).
I love this album, spookily it was exactly a year today that I finished the album with my tongue-in-cheek horror piece "Shock! Horror!" which was the last track made for Ambients. It seems weird that it's been an entire year of producing/mastering/re-mastering/promotion and working on the EP and three singles (two of which are still to come). Please buy the album and and follow the instructions on the mini-site to get your free CD.
