Hey everyone, argh how long has it been? I'm getting really rubbish at this blogging thing. I remember before I released anything and was still tweaking the album, I used to blog loads (even though I had little to mention) and now that I have loads going on and lots of cool stuff to share I never sit myself down to blog at all!
Cornwall Holiday
Well I've got about 13 tracks written and so it's time for myself and Kirsty to sit down and work on the lyrics and the vocals for our debut album together. This will be a side project under a joint name for us (revealed later!) and considering that the album is entirely synthetic pop, we thought the best place to go for lyrical inspiration would be rural Cornwall! (It seemed a good idea at the time, so expect lots of synth dance tracks about getting a good price on your mare at the weekly market). If Kirsty let's me I'll try to get some videos and blogs done while we're down there.
Shock! Horror! Promotional Single
Okay, okay you all knew it was going to happen, but I made a silly promise on election night that if the Conservatives got into power over here in England that I would release the nightmarish track Shock! Horror! as a promotional Halloween single (to punish the world for letting this happen).
The artwork and a possible video are still being worked on but the release will be towards the end of October. The single will be free to download and currently the tracklisting is planned to be as follows:
- Shock! Horror! (Album Version)
- Shock! Horror! (Sinister Mix)
- Shock! Horror! (Acoustic Edit) [Unconfirmed]
- Shock! Horror! (Remix) [Artist Unconfirmed]
Perfect for Halloween eh?
Interview with Olaf from Joint Venture Radio
A few weeks ago I was on holiday to visit friends and family in Germany and I got time to meet up with the amazing Olaf from wonderful Synoiz supporters Joint Venture Radio in his home town of Bremen. We recorded a lengthy two hour interview discussing everything from Ambients to Kirsty's album (including announcing the name of the side project) to the long suffering Darkling EP. I'm not sure when the episode/s with the interview on will air but stay tuned!
I've got lots more news to give you including photos from Germany, some remixes I've done/am working on, and my inclusion on an upcoming collaboration album to mark the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster from Ambientaria Records.
Until then, see you later, for the latest ramblings and news, check my Twitter.
